21/12/2018	Surgeon tell us it looks like oesophagus cancer 😦
27/12/2018	John does a CT scan and some blood tests 😐
04/01/2019	Biopsy results come back saying inconclusive 😐
08/01/2019	John’s doctor tells us this is all good news 🙂
17/01/2019	Meet with Specialist at Wellington Told there is no way this isn’t oesophagus cancer Advised to cut down on the alcohol – yeah right More tests required to see if it’s terminal 😦
end of Jan	Loads of tests, Meet oncologist Given a list of the chemo side effects…there are hundreds 😐
4/02/2019	Laparoscopy confirms it has not spread – a good day This means it’s treatable 🙂
7/02/2019	Picc line inserted into John’s arm – will remain there for a year First round of chemo – 5 hours of treatment No bad side effects – as yet 🙂
20/02/2019 06/03/2019 20/03/2019	Next 3 rounds of chemo – side effects kick in Food tastes bitter and is like a paste Tingling in hands – can’t touch cold things like my heart Nerve damage in foot so can’t walk properly Needs loads of sleep to recover from each round
1/04/2019 April fool	Meet with Surgeon Operation scheduled for the 13th of May It’s a 12 hour operation 50% chance the cancer could return within 2 – 4 years
10/4/2019	Meet with oncologist Advice given on nerve damage in foot Includes walks on the beach – not by himself 🙂
11/4/2019	CT scan Looks like tumour has shrunk 🙂 – but that’s us interpreting from MyHealth 😐
30/4/2019	Pre-op assessment completed – everything looks fine 🙂

Wow… what a roller coaster. And you thought the admission to A&E was an over reaction Lisa!

Hi Lisa have just seen this! You have obviously been through the mill this year so sorry to hear that John is battling cancer. I have been a support person for a friend over here. She was diagnosed with bowel cancer had an operation and 12 chemotherapy treatments. She has just had the all clear. Such a tough time! Thinking of you all with much love Dee 😘
