Merry go round

So I’ve been trying to think of things John will enjoy. I booked second row seats at the Ben Elton show. Always enjoyed him in the nineties and his books were great. He spent the first half of the show talking about people living too long and when you get sick you should off yourself. Not ideal content for a terminal cancer patient. Oh well. Another fail Lisa.

Sunday John seemed to be coughing up his left lung and couldn’t take any food or drink. Anyway when we talked to oncologist and Te Omunga hospice they said head to A&E with a bag packed. So we got there at 1:57 and a doctor talked to us at 4pm. They scanned John at 8pm and came to talk to us at 9 pm. They said that a medical team would talk to us soon. 1230 they still hadn’t talked to us so I decided to leave forcing them to admit John.

Today they have said they think stent is broken but they can’t get the parts for 4 or 5 days. The options are temporary feeding tube before they fix it. Tomorrow they are doing an gastroscopy to have a proper look and work out what to do next. Anyway John’s on a drip for dehydration and antibiotics for his lung infection. Fun fun fun.

  1. it’s a pity you didn’t have done rotten fruit with you to fling at him! If only Amazon was in NZ…. they’d be there next day🤭
