From Hanmer we drove to Oamaru which was a fair old drive. We stopped on the way in Ashburton for brunch and had red wine and snacks for dinner in Oamaru.

Next day I stopped to look at the Moeraki boulders and then on to Dunedin. Took Gemma out for cocktails and dinner. Handed Gemma the car keys this morning and flew home.

John found it all a trial and won’t be leaving Wellington again.
