Tubeless

John’s nasal tube spilt last Friday – always happens on the weekend. We took him into the emergency department and one of the nurses from endoscopy came to take a look. She said it wasn’t possible to do an easy fix. So the ED doctor got out some electrical tape to see if we could fix it. That didn’t work and they were talking about admitting John until we said he’s able to eat some things and drink OK.

Anyway after some discussions and hanging at the hospital for hours today they operated on him. They weren’t sure when they took him in of they’d do a stent or put in a nasal tube. They went with the stent which expands the oesophagus. He’ll be able to eat soft foods in a couple of days. Just liquids before that. So he’s now tubeless!!! The problem may be trying to eat enough so he doesn’t lose anymore weight.

Next week we have a check in appointment with the oncologist.

Waiting for the op. Thought I’d take a photo without the tube
