Meeting today

We met with the Oncologist this morning and she said all the scans show they have removed the tumour and that it was a secondary from the oesophagus cancer. I thought this was bad news but she said there is no signs of it anywhere else and there is no reason to believe it will reoccur. What she thinks happened is a cell from the original cancer broke away and made it’s way up to the brain prior to John getting his treatment last year. She said that chemo doesn’t go near the brain so that cancer cell didn’t get nuked whereas any anywhere else in his body did. She also said there are no signs in the brain of any other tumours so said John has a low chance of reoccurence. She said he should plan his life in the long term as he’s not popping his cloggs anytime soon.

John will have 3 treatments of radiation therapy where the brain tumour was removed just to ensure it is completely burnt away. We went to Scopa for a celebratory lunch – was a good day πŸ™‚
