John had a CT scan today which indicated the hole is almost closed. The surgeon operated on John at 2 today to remove the vacuum sponge. We think this means John doesn’t require further surgery and may be eating soon. We don’t know for sure as we are a bit like mushrooms.

Thanks Dave. They have started allowing him out for short stints starting from today. He’s back in hospital tomorrow night after 7pm and then home for the weekend in Friday. Next week he will be back in hospital and visits would be great.
