19/08/2020. We’ve been told dad has between 2-3 weeks left. He’s in hospital at the moment but wants to come home. The palliative care team are meeting today to work out what needs to be in place so he can come home.

Diagnosed in November 2018 with terminal pancreatic cancer – initially told he had 3 months.
4/8/2020. Dad did full noise chemo at the start of the year. He’s been quite sick over the year and during lockdown so they stopped chemo.
He seemed to get his appetite back beginning of June and hasn’t been doing too badly. He has been in pain lately and it appears the tumour has started growing again. He can’t sleep easily. They are going to start chemo again but not the full on version
We were then told that light chemo would give him a year – possibly. Dad has been doing light chemo since January. He had a scan in April which showed the tumour has not shrunk but it hasn’t grown either.
Three more months of chemo and they think that’s all they can do.
Dad has his last chemo session today 4/06/2019.
2/8/2019 – Got it wrong with the chemo thing – he had his last session around mid July and had a scan. The results were the tumor is stable and he will just be monitored at present.
28/10/2019 – Dad had an scan at the beginning of the month and the tumour has grown. Dad’s been in alot of pain trying to lie down so they have injected something to numb all the nerves around the tumour. The oncologist got a PICC line put in on Friday and they are planning on starting a much stronger chemotherapy this week. They haven’t said how long this will give him if he does it or how long he has if he doesn’t do it. He was given 3 months to live this time last year so maybe they don’t really know..
