So there have been some pretty bad storms in Wellington and the road has been closed to Eastbourne.

John’s been hospital all this week. They put a new stent in to cover the hole that goes into his windpipe. That hasn’t worked and anything he eats or drinks has the possibility of going into his lungs. The gastro team gave the option of carry on with the eating and drinking risk, put in the feeding tube or a peg that feeds him directly to the stomach.

He’s decided on the peg, they can do that next week. In the meantime they are putting in a tube so he can come home for the weekend. I’m just waiting for that procedure to finish which can be tricky with his twisted osphageous. Will keep you posted.
