Second chemo done

John had his second chemo treatment last week and his initial reaction to that doesn’t appear to be as bad as his first treatment 2 weeks ago. Though today his legs have started giving way and we think that may be a chemo reaction.

We visited the doctor who specialises in radiotherapy today. They were explaining the process and what to expect.

Summary John will have a scan when the oncologist thinks is the right time to see if the chemo has worked. This is likely to be in three weeks time., after that the radiotherapy team will decide how strong the treatment will be and for how long. This will all depend on the size of the tumour. John will be getting tattoos on his chest so will join the rest of us grants with tattoos. This is so they can be accurate when doing the radiotherapy.

I have to say the doctors today were all sad eyes and talking about making John comfortable. As I said to John – Kate (oncologist) has said she reckons they can deal to this cancer and she wouldn’t be chucking all this effort at it if she didn’t think this will deal to it.

John is on the feeding tube which means he is in an overnight feeding tube then on two hourly feeding during the day. The boys and I are working out between us who is on feeding duty. Alana has come home to help out as well and Gemma helped put when she was home.

My hips are going well won a match so go into the next round of the competition and I’ve done a hill walk that went fine.

Overnight feeding machine that I have called a fucken stupid cunt
