It’s been awhile so I thought I’d give everyone a bit of a progress update. ACC have agreed John suffered a treatment injury so have paid Ambulance bill etc.
John was having trouble eating and managed to get hold of the specialist via a customer survey – where he let them know his thoughts. It turns out it’s quite common for the esophagus to narrow where they have joined it up. That’s why he felt food sticking and felt like vomiting most dinner times. Any hoo he had a gastroscopy where they used a balloon thing to stretch where the esophagus had narrowed.
They are repeating the process tomorrow – they are supposed to put him under a general anesthetic but they struggled to find a vein last time so he was awake during the procedure. The chemo has effected his circulation – that’s why his legs and feet are numb and probably why they struggle to find a vein.
He’s now down to his lowest weight he’s ever been as an adult – 71.25 (11st 2lb). He can wear Jules clothes now – which he did when we went to Casey(my cousin) and Paula’s wedding last weekend. Was a lovely wedding and a great location. I just kept expecting to see my uncle Richard with a drink in hand cracking his usual jokes – he would have loved the occasion. A couple of pic’s π
