I spoke with the surgeon yesterday and he thinks it will be mid-July before John is allowed to eat or drink anything, John will be having a gastroscopy on Wednesday next week – one of the doctors seems fairly positive and thinks the hole will be closed but the doctor I spoke with yesterday said he thinks that’s unlikely. His plan is to check everything is going ok – change the “clip” that’s in there and then check John again in a fortnight – which is the 17th of July. That is likely to be when John gets to eat and drink again.

In the meantime he’s allowed home and he’s been going for walks and getting to watch us eat our dinner and stuff lots of others things in our face. He may get the nose trunk out soon though 🙂
